MEMEE
A retirement home on a hill. In one of the many rooms lives Memee, surrounded by family pictures. When she looks through her window, she can see a little house with a smoking chimney. In that house lives a saxophonist. He plays, smokes and makes Memee's heart beat a little faster.

EVELYN VERSCHOORE
Evelyn Verschoore graduated from the School of Arts | KASK in 2000 with the animated short film 'Daddy Trumpet'. Her film was selected for a number of film festivals in France, Germany and Japan. She also received a number of awards for her film, including the Best Belgium Short Film award at Film Fest Ghent in 2000. Subsequently, Evelyn collaborated as an animator on 'Cinema Vertekend' (2000) and 'The last words of Dutch Schultz', two films by Gerrit van Dijk. She assisted Flemish cartoonist, author and actor Herr Seele on several occasions and participates in numerous exhibitions with her own graphic work and paintings Evelyn has been teaching animation film workshops to children, and in 2001 she founded the division Animation Film at the Academy of Roeselare (SASK). Since november 2008 Evelyn is a teacher at the School of Arts in Ghent. 'Memee' is her first professional short film. A next crossover project, 'Mum', is already in development.
